Quitting Smoking
Well it’s a milestone – not one to do with making websites but still a big milestone none the less. And worth the mention because it has sent me quite haywire during the transition.
The problem with working in a home office is you can do pretty much what you want to and no one will pull you up and tell you to go outside to smoke, or to only smoke on a break. When you hit a small problem you light up while you are thinking about it. You have no boundaries.
But your lungs tell you its time to quit and eventually I listened to them. I went to the doctor and got the Champix. I continued to smoke for near 3 weeks but in that time gradually smoked less until I felt I could reach that cold turkey day.
I’ve now been 12 days without a cigarette. I wish I could confidently say I’ll never smoke again, but the truth is everyday the compulsion to reach for a cigarette asserts itself . Right now I’m fortified against it, but there could come a day when I am not able to resist.
Anyway, it’s been a month of chaos in my head. Sleeplessness and a mind that cannot concentrate. So if the content has stalled this is the reason why.
On the up side, I am currently feeling pretty good and starting to plan my work and get it done again – instead of curling up with a good book because it’s “all” too hard!
And I’ve quit smoking. I’m chuffed!
