Add Images to Blogroll Links

This tutorial demonstrates how to add images to your blogroll links in WordPress.

First you must have an image available online to use. You can upload an image normally using Media > Add New. If the image is specifically for the blogroll, you need only use a small image and if you want a set of images to be consistent in shape then make the dimensions of these images consistent – that is don’t use some images that are taller than they are wide and some that are wider than they are tall.

Once the image is in the media library you can get the url for the image.

Alternatively you can use the url for an image that has been uploaded somewhere else on the web. If you prefer this to using the media library, but wish to keep images on this site, create a folder inside wp-content (where your plugin and theme folders are) so it will not be affected by any updates.

The full url is what you will put in the address of the image, as described in the video.

When you have the address (url) of the image, go to Add New or Edit a link in the Links area (or Blogroll). Scroll down and you will see the image address field under Advanced. Enter the url and save.
